FutureSwim Start Date Status

Expected start date is now Oct 4th.  

2025-2026 Season

 I plan to start 9/27.  However, I am still working out some issues and may have to adjust this date. Please check here by noon Sat. 9/27 for an update if we are NOT beginning on this date.  I will post the new registration form here as soon as everything is locked in. 

Practice cancelled Sun. 4-6-25 Due to Tornado Alerts

 Practice is cancelled Sun. 4-6-25 due to tornado alerts coming through.  We will always err on the side of caution to play it safe. 

Practice Cancelled 1/12/2025 Sunday

 Practice is cancelled due to water temperature from power loss caused by the weather.

Practice Cancelld Sat 1/11/25

Due to inclement weather practice is cancelled for Sat. 1/11/25, Sun is TBD.

FutureSwim Cancelled Weekend of 9/28 & 29

The hurricane caused the power supply to the pool to be unstable, thereby not running the pumps or the heater.  We can not swim without electricity.  Should be back to normal next weekend.  If you did not get the email about this and are seeing this here, please contact me so I can make sure you get the emails.   

Start of 2024-2025 Season 9/14/24

Update on 2024-2025 Season Start

 The revised start date is the weekend of 9/14 & 15.  

Sat. practice time is 4-5pm and Sun. practice time is 1-2pm.

2024-2025 Season to Begin Soon

FutureSwim is tentatively scheduled to begin Sept. 7th, 2024. We will be at the Chastain Park Pool located at 235 Chastain Park Ave NW, Atlanta.  

2023-2024 Season has Ended

 The 2023-2024 jas ended. We will start back in Sept of 2024 for the 2024-2025 season. Have a great summer league season and we will see you in the fall 

No Practice Easter Sunday March 31st

 There is no pracitce March 31st in observance of Easter Sundy. We will resume on Sat. April 6th. 

Practice Cancelled 1/20/24 Saturday Only, due to extreme cold and wind

 Due to the extreme cold and the higher winds the temperature at practice with wind chill figured is showing a range of 5 to 13.  It is the winds that are of concern as they whip under the tarp and in the swimmers faces in some parts of the pool.  Saturday swimmers if you can come Sunday that would be great.  We will have the heaters going and no fans.  

Practices Cancelled this weekend 12/30 -31/2023

 Practice is cancelled this weekend 12-30 and 12-31.  We will resume our normal regular practice schedule on Jan. 6th.

2023-2024 Season

The current season is underway as of the middle of September.  We are off to a very productive start.  Our main coaches are Sam Boatwright, Emily Lash and myself of  course.  Both Sam and Emily are USA coaches.  Sam for the CPAC team at Chastain and Emily has been with the Kentucky Clippers.  She is on hiatus as she is spending more time back in Atlanta and moving back soon.  I am thrilled to have such talent on the staff, as well as, a strong group of coaches who are in the water or on deck with the swimmers as needed.

FutureSwim's focus is on technique, which will lead to faster times. I have run thousands of swimmers through the program and so many have gone on to year round teams with many swimming in colleges all over the US. Some the top swimmers in Atlanta area got their technique work through FutureSwim and I am very proud of all the success.

Times:  Saturdays 4-5pm

             Sundays 1-2 pm

For December we will only be off the 24th.  The rest of December is normal.  Also, Only in December, it is pay by the visit.  I do this because of all the things going on with schools, recitals performances, parties etc etc.  Some people can't make 2 weekends and they don't want to pay for the month when they know they can't be there and they can't fit in the make ups by coming both the Sat. and Sun. the weeks they can make it. When you have been coming and they take a month off, so much ground is lost.  The muscle memory that they have been fixing can revert.  It is much better to come even some vs not at all to not lose progress.  See attached registration form for pricing.  For December, divide monthly cost by 4 to determine the amount you pay per visit for the month of Dec.  The rest of the season (Jan- April) if pay by the month.

2022-2023 Season Starts 9/17/2022

 The new season begins the weekend of 9/17/2022 and runs through the end of April 2023.  Practices will be at Chastain Park Pool on Saturdays from 4-5pm and Sundays from 1-2pm.

Chastain Park Swimming Pool (White covered facility across from the tennis courts at Chastain and next to Galloway School)

The best place to park is on Elliott Galloway Way.  It is a one way street and the best way to get to the parking is to google the address.  But go up Powers Ferry Rd and turn onto Elliot Galloway Way  (it is a right if you are coming up the hill from the horse park) and then you will park once you see the covered pool.   

Practice Cancelled Saturday 3/12/2022

 Due to the extreme wind making the temperature feel like 21 degrees practice is cancelled today, March 12, 2022.  We will have practice tomorrow, Sunday 3/13.

FutureSwim Starting Soon

 9/15/2021

It has been frustrating and challenging but it looks like we will be able to start soon.  I will be sending an email out by 9/17.  If you were already on the mailing list or signed up on the site and do not get the email by 10pm on 9/17, then email me so I can make sure you are on the list.  I have been checking and see that many of you have signed up through the website. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Practice Suspended

3/14/2020

Due to our current National Emergency and request to not hold social gatherings, FutureSwim practice is suspended until further notice.

Labor Day Weekend 2019- No Practice

We will not have practice Aug. 31 or Sept. 1st over the holiday weekend.  We will be back at Lovett on Sept. 7th.  Have a safe and fun Holiday.

FutureSwim begins this weekend 8/10 & 11, 2019.

The times are the same as in the past.

4:30 - 5:30pm  Session 1
5:30 - 6:30pm   Session 2

Sun
12:30-1:30pm  Session 3
1:30- 2:30pm   Session 4

Come to any session you like.  You may change week to week and never need to let me know.  Typically 4:30 on Sat. is the lightest session. If you are doinf 2 sessions a week, come to any 2 you like.
